Indie Nation Blog What inspires you to make music? The pure joy and love for it! There’s nothing in the world like being creative and making something that most can enjoy. Feeling the base line, bouncing to the shakers, tuned in to the lyrics, it creates a vibe. When something is a part of you it defines you. Tell us about this project? I created Boom Box Classic which is the return of the boom bap sound with a progressive feel. I wanted to take it back to dope beats and lyrics with a New York vibe. Type of music when you hear the first few bars you automatically know the song it is and you get vibed out. Like when Benjamins comes on in the club and everyone hits the dance floor. Expect an experience where you won’t skip through but instead listen to each song! Who were your musical inspirations growing up? I listened to everyone from Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Isley Brothers & the OJ’s to the likes of KRS 1, Nas, Biggie, & Wu. I just love good music so if it captures me I’m vibing out.
