John Brown the upcoming artist known as “SNACO” was born in San Diego, California, spending some of his childhood in Camden NJ, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia has been passionate about his artistry and making music since he was young. He is the leader of lost souls. An artist who deals with the same struggles that many people are afraid to speak on. He’s here to display that it is okay not to be okay sometimes. Having mental illnesses shouldn’t affect the path you choose in life, and his creativity and lyricism is taking him straight to the top, advocating for people who suffer from anxiety and depression. He understands as an artist the struggles because of personal experience. He began writing about his emotions through poetry and rap music. Starting his career making music in his bedroom, he was able to save enough to create his own recording studio.
SNACO began learning how to record, mix, and master his own tracks, meeting with Sam Marrow and his colleagues, being discovered by an artist development team through social media. He’s interested in making music of all genres as long as it makes sense to the sound. Some challenges experienced would be feeling like an artist, yet still learning how to be a star. Having his grandmother and best friend Tez as two major motivators, he continues his journey to focus on his craft. When he’s not making music, he enjoys painting abstract work, being inspired by Childish Gambino and Prince. He admires their versatility and natural talent. “Music has always been in my blood.” His family is full of natural born artists. The most important achievement would be to save as many people as he can through his music. When it comes to his talents and passion, staying consistent is most important; along with finding balance, because everything is about balance. “The problem is that none of my family members tried to take their talents mainstream. I’m out to break that generational curse.”
